About Jeff

Thirty years of learning
what actually makes health stick.

If you've ever done everything right for two weeks and then watched it all fall apart, I understand exactly how that feels. I spent three decades in healthcare leadership watching people receive excellent advice and still struggle to follow through, including me. What I've learned is that the missing piece is almost never information. It's a plan built around who you actually are.

The Philosophy

Why Third Road Health exists.

Here's what thirty years in healthcare actually taught me and why I built something entirely different as a result.

For the last twenty years, I've been quietly working on my own health. No extreme diets, no expensive routines, no fancy supplements. Just the fundamentals, applied consistently: hiring a personal trainer, shifting toward whole foods, starting a meditation practice in 2019, and spending a lot of time reading and listening. Peter Attia, Tim Ferriss, Rich Roll, Rhonda Patrick. The researchers and thinkers who are serious about longevity and healthspan, not just weight loss.

Somewhere along the way, people started noticing. Friends would ask what I was doing. Family members would come to me when they wanted to make a change but weren't sure where to start. I became a resource without really planning for it, the person in my circle that people called when they were serious about their health.

I loved it. Not because I had all the answers, but because I'd actually read the books, done the work, and could meet people where they were.

After 30 years in the physical therapy industry, I'd also spent 15 years using CliftonStrengths with every team I led. I watched how differently people responded to the same challenge depending on how they were wired. And I kept thinking: what if I applied that same lens to health habits? What if, instead of handing someone a plan, I first figured out who they actually were and then matched them to the approach most likely to work for them specifically?

That question became Third Road Health.

The Framingham Heart Study found that healthy habits travel outward through social networks, two and three degrees from the person who changed. When you make a lasting change, the people around you are more likely to as well.

Your health is never just about you.

Too many people I know are stuck in "I'm not sure what to do" or "I've tried and it doesn't work for me." I want to move them to something they can actually say and mean: I am a healthy person. I know what to do.

The Person

Health has to work in a real life. Mine included.

Jeff with his family

Since 2022, I've hiked the Wonderland Trail with my son, backpacked the Grand Canyon with my dad, and hit Camelback with my daughters. When we're not on the trail, we're chasing live music — road trips to Power Trip Festival for Metallica, and Red Hot Chili Peppers and Post Malone in Chicago. These days, my wife and I are slowing down a bit, spending a few months exploring the West while we think about what comes next.

Health is what made all of that possible. Not a set of rules, not a discipline. Just the foundation that keeps you able to do the things you actually want to do.

That's what I want for my clients, and it's what Third Road Health is built to deliver.

Jeff crossing the finish line at the Phoenix Marathon

In 2025, I crossed the finish line of my first marathon. Honestly, I needed to know if this actually works before I asked anyone else to trust it. Running that marathon was my answer.

If I'm going to ask clients to trust this process, I needed to live it first. That kind of consistency, built on the right foundation and personalized to who I am, actually works. The marathon was the proof.

The Path

A career spent on the front lines of human performance.

Jeff on the Chicago Bears sideline

Chicago Bears — NFL Sideline

My first job out of school put me on the sidelines with the Bears. High profile and high pressure. I learned what real professionalism looks like: detailed preparation, clear communication, and earning the trust of people performing at the highest level.

Athletico Physical Therapy — Clinical Leadership

Working alongside orthopedic surgeons and managing the health of patients and athletes taught me how to collaborate across disciplines, earn physician trust, and think about health outcomes at scale.

Highbar Physical Therapy — Executive Leadership

Highbar gave me the chance to test my leadership in a new environment: building systems, developing highly motivated leaders, and proving that strong culture and clinical excellence aren't a tradeoff.

Third Road Health — Founder

This is where it all converged. Thirty years of watching what works and what doesn't, turned into a coaching approach I actually believe in.
